2020 Prayer Guide: April Visa Travel and English Classes
From the beginning of the year, our 2020 Prayer Guide:
“April: Visa Travel and English Classes The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (Psalm 121:7-8)
God, provide safety and protection during our frequent travels to meet government requirements for our visa. Provide opportunities for us to serve here through our English business visa.” We didn’t know. That a pandemic would hit. That the borders would close. That the choice to stay would be made for us before we even had time to think.
We didn’t know. That we’d send our coworkers home to their villages. That our plans for literacy classes would change. That our ministry goals would look differently.
We didn’t know. That English classes would be canceled. That our students would be disappointed.
We didn’t know. That we wouldn’t get a rest from our usual stress. That birthdays would be celebrated at home, more simply. That we shouldn’t have promised the child a Dairy Queen cake from Thailand. That the fun plans would be laid aside, indefinitely.
We didn’t know. That asking for prayers for travel, would really mean asking for prayers for staying home.
We didn’t know.
Yet, the promises of God remain true.
He will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
We didn’t know. But He did.
And, He remains faithful.
Faithful in changes to plans. Faithful in disappointments. Faithful in panic. Faithful in fear. Faithful in unknowns and uncertainties. Faithful. Every day. Through comings and goings. Through stayings and leavings. Through hoping and waitings. Through it all. He remains. Faithful.
Thank God for his faithfulness to us! We can face uncertainty because He is with us. Both now and forevermore.
